I love the intense blue of this plant! My father used to lay rusty nails around the roots of his hydrangeas to make them blue. Seems like these had a whole sack of rusty nails ! To see more, click here.
This is an old painting on stretched canvas. It is 10 x 8. This past spring a late freeze in April may have killed my two huge gardenia bushes. Hydrangeas come in pink, blue, and white. When the blooms are first opening, they have a greenish tint. I think it is hard to paint so many flowers on one stem! But it is great fun to try. For more information, click here.
