Pink Peonies in a Clear Vase

These peonies are not easy flower to paint! A clear vase with water in it is also challenging! This is a 10 x 8 oil painting on a canvas panel. For more information, click here.

Blue Hydrangeas in a Silver Vase

I love the intense blue of this plant! My father used to lay rusty nails around the roots of his hydrangeas to make them blue. Seems like these had a whole sack of rusty nails ! To see more, click here.

Gardenia Gala

This is an old painting on stretched canvas. It is 10 x 8. This past spring a late freeze in April may have killed my two huge gardenia bushes. Some branches have now come out, but I do not know if it is enough for next spring. This painting was completed using photographs as references. For more information, click here.

Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas come in pink, blue, and white. When the blooms are first opening, they have a greenish tint. I think it is hard to paint so many flowers on one stem! But it is great fun to try. For more information, click here.

House Along a Sunlit Road

This is an 8 x 8 oil painting on canvas panel. Many people prefer canvas panels because they fit in most commercial frames. I like the shadows on this old house. For more information, click here.

Morning Coffee

The first thing I want every morning is a cup of coffee. I like Community Coffee and Starbucks. Sometimes we get Black Silk (Folgers). I accidentally broke my favorite coffee cup a month ago but we have lots of others. I have not decided on one yet. This painting is 8 x8 on canvas panel. It would look good in some one’s kitchen! Gavan Garden Bridge

Painting an old stone bridge is a very satisfying way to spend an afternoon. I don’t like to paint modern steel bridges or tall modern building. I love old architecture from the 1880’s and have painted a lot of old buildings and several old bridges. For more information, click here.
