One of my favorite nurseries that feature antique roses is that of David Austin. These large, romantic roses are similar to those grown in the 19th century. This 10 x 8 painting is on a panel. Click here for further information.,

Green Symphony
This 6 x 8 painting on panel was inspired by a sketch I made in Randolph County, around the area of Maynard, Arkansas. Notice the bent mail box. It used to be a favorite prank of teenagers to try to hit mail boxes. I’ve had to replace several! Click hereto see the price of the painting or to learn more about it.
Wild Roses
This is an oil painting on a 6 x 6 inch linen stretched canvas. For more information about the painting, click here.
Many people think that oil paintings are better than acrylic paintings but this is not true and I would not worry about acrylics v.s. oils when selecting a painting. Many acrylic paintings are hard to tell from oil paintings and can often be painted exactly like oil paintings depending on the skill of the artist. Both kinds of media are long lasting and can be framed without glass.
You should also not be concerned about whether the painting is on stretched canvas or on a panel. I will write about this in next week’s blog.
Sparrow
This is a small oil painting of a sparrow. As a child I remember seeing hundreds of sparrows in the city. Now I only rarely see them! For further information about this painting, click here.
Love for the Land
At only 6 x 8 inches this is a small painting! But there is a lot to see in it. Notice the fence posts on either side of the small building and the way the narrow path leads up to the door. This scene was inspired by my visit to Randolph County in east Arkansas around the area of Maynard, a small town. For further information, click here.
Fall in Heber Springs, Arkansas
This is a large painting–24 x 36–and could make a very striking focal point for a room! It will look good in a barn wood frame. The canvas was given to me by a very good friend who lives close to Heber Springs, Arkansas so I decided to name the painting for her! The foliage is very heavily textured. Ozark Cabin in Early Fall
This is an oil painting on a canvas panel. I like the contrast between red and blue. To see more about this painting, click here.
Colors of Fall
This is an oil painting, very heavily textured. It is part of a series of fall paintings I did in oil for my September posts. Click here for more information or to see others in the series.
Lakeside, Arkansas
Lakeside is a small community south of Little Rock with many charming cabins, a club house, and, of course, a lake. This impressionistic canvas panel oil painting is 8 x 10. Click here for more information.
Country Houses
This painting was sold at an auction for a medical charity in Conway, Arkansas. This group sends nurses and doctors to other nations to provide help to the very poor. A wonderful woman in our Sage group at our church goes on a medical mission every year. I had the painting framed and it looked good. I hope whoever bought it enjoys it! Although this painting is not available you can see other paintings in my online gallery by clicking here.
